A dozen roses that will never wilt...
Blossoms is a poem by Merrill Collins, illustrated with a dozen
gorgeous photos of roses by Yvon Chausseblanche and nine tracks of
soothing and uplifting music inspired by the beauty of the rose.
What would roses sound like if they could sing? Merrill's new
composition captures perfect relation of a blossom to the sun,
greeting, welcoming, following, waiting. Great for walking the labyrinth, wake up, or
relaxing before bed. Harmonizes the environment, just as fresh flowers
themselves do. Simply ethereal. A healing musical expression of
nature's unconditional love for Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, and when
you want to say "Get Well Soon".
Released in January, 2007, Merrill
renders celestial melodies and nature sounds inspired by morning
meditations in the Rose Garden and in the countryside. Featuring
Merrill Collins on Steinway grand piano and harp/keyboards; Charles
Moselle on bansuri flutes and shakahatchi; Bruce Mishkit on silver
flute; Mike Knapp on cello. Nature sounds by Yvon Chausseblanche.
Merrill Collins grew up in Nutley, New Jersey and began studying music at the age of four. Her undergraduate studies took place at Ithaca College and California State University at Humboldt. Her Masters in Music is from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music.
