This dark wooden box features the Chartres labyrinth design on a 3 3/4 inch by 2 1/2 inch glass panel on the top.  With a hinged lid, the box measures approximately 4 1/4 inches wide by 3 inches deep by 2 inches tall.  It would be perfect as a small jewelry box or simply on your desk as a reminder of the shared human journey.

This Fair Trade item is handmade in Ecuador by a native art company using a fused glass method.  Fusing glass is a technique used to obtain homogenous glass layers by means of the fusion of different layers of glass which must have the same coefficient of expansion (the rate at which the glass expands). Melting and molding the glass creates spectacular pieces of art.  Part of its beauty is that the results are not totally predictable and may include bubbles within the glass. Each piece is a unique and exotic example of art.  Not two pieces are the same.
