This bronze crucifix measures approximately 4 1/2 inches tall by 3 inches wide.  It has an integral hook on the back.

Near the cross of Jesus stood his mother, his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. When Jesus saw his mother there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to his mother, "Dear woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother." From that time on, this disciple took her into his home.

About the studio

This piece was created at the liturgical studios of Butzon and Bercker.  Founded in Germany in 1920, this studio invites artists from all walks of life to present new images to touch and awaken our senses of the sacred.  These images witness to beauty, truth, and the sacred stories which are also our individual stories.
