This exquisite rendition of the Chartres labyrinth was created by artists in Jogjakarta, Central Java. Taking about two weeks to complete, each piece is first drawn by hand and then meticulously gilded with 23.5 kt gold.  This piece features a gilt labyrinth on handmade Japanese paper with a beautiful, partially-gilded frame using very old, recycled jackfruit wood.

The designer and producer of these fine works, Don Harper, deals in Indonesian art and has lived in Java for many years.  There he has a studio with a team of traditional crafts people who produce these remarkable works which are inspired by his love for classical designs.
