This ornament (number 1 in a series of 12) is a detail from a window in the Chapel of Grace. Produced by Charles Connick in 1930 and considered some of his finest work, these windows were created at the height of his career. Connick’s Chapel of Grace window designs were inspired by the famed and still-surviving Sainte-Chapelle, a private chapel attached to the royal palace in Paris.

This image of the annunciation to Mary is from the Blessed Virgin Mary window on the Chapel porch.

It is American-made in solid brass coated in hematite, utilizing a revolutionary technique to produce an ornament that closely interprets the original stained glass masterpiece. The back of the ornament is imprinted with:
